Guests
Children may bring a guest on a Saturday/Sunday
trip. Please notify your called on Thursday
to help us with our plans. The fee is $60.00 + $15.00 guest fee with instruction and $50.00 + $15.00 guest fee without instruction. A
person may only come once as a guest per
season.
Rental
Daily rental of ski equipment at the area is
$18.00, snowboards are $28.00. Seasonal rental
is available at both Boyne Country Sports and Don Thomas Sporthaus.
If your child is renting at the area, please
fill out the rental form (below) each week
and send it with them. Many of the children
do not know their height, weight, and sizes,
etc. Having these forms filled out will help
us to get the children through the rental
area much faster and out to their classes
more quickly.

Supervision
The children in the Winter Walden Ski and Snowboard Club
will be supervised the entire day by our
own trained staff. This includes the
bus ride to and from the resort, in the
lodge at the area, and on the hill while
skiing and riding. Children who are experiencing problems
while on a trip can always find immediate
assistance at the Winter Walden table in
the lodge, or at the Winter Walden teaching
station at the base of the hill. Younger children are kept in a
closely supervised group the entire day for lessons, lunch and
recreational times.
Membership Patches
We Expect that all members will have their patches
sewn on their ski jacket. These patches are our
means of identification of each student to
ensure that they are receiving the proper
instruction. The 2008 patch is placed
just above the WW membership patch and the
level patches follow in order below the WW
patch. (Caberfae, Sugarloaf, Schuss, Boyne,
Pico Peak, Mt. Tremblant, Stowe, Vail & Aspen
or/ Freerider, Halfpipe, Fakie, Freestyle,
Shredder, Extreme, Bump Rider & Airborne).
Many students elect to sew on only the current
year patch (2008), the WW patch, and the
highest level patch earned. Patches not sewn
to the jacket can be easily lost or stolen
which causes confusion and added expenses.
Children new to Winter Walden who have skied/snowboarded
before, will go to the T.B.C. flag on their
first trip where they will be evaluated and
placed at the appropriate level (they will
receive the level patch at the end of the lesson day).
Picking Children Up Early
If you pick up your child at the resort,
you must first stop at the Winter Walden
table inside the lodge. No child is to
leave the resort under any circumstances
without first notifying a Winter Walden supervisor and signing out.
Emergency Procedure
In the event that a child should become injured they will be taken immediately
to the Ski Patrol shelter by the Ski Patrol.
Parents will be called immediately for their
decision on medical treatment. If parents
are not available, we will use our best judgment
as to what course of action to pursue and
will continue to attempt to contact the parents.
If the accident is of a serious nature requiring
x-rays or hospitalization, the Winter Walden
Ski and Snowboard Club will not be held responsible for
the medical costs incurred.
Safety Check
It is recommended that all students in the Winter
Walden Ski and Snowboard Club have their equipment checked for safety.
This check is for your protection and will save time and avoid confusion
at the resort, where there are no free facilities
to correct any problems. A good safety check
will consist of checking skis, snowboard, boots, bindings and
poles. This will ensure that boots are fitted correctly,
skis and poles, or snowboard, are in good condition, and
most importantly, that safety bindings are
adjusted for proper release. It is advisable
to complete this safety check before the
early part of December so as not to get caught
up with the holiday shoppers.
Behavior Policy
We expect children in the Winter Walden Ski
and Snowboard Club to be accountable for their own behavior
and, likewise, conduct themselves in a cooperative,
sportsmanlike, and responsible manner. We
expect the children to behave themselves
on the bus, in the lodge, and on the
hill. Cutting or pushing in line at the
lifts or in the cafeteria is unacceptable.
Children are expected to follow directions
as to what hills they may use according
to their ability, and to stay in control at
all times so as not to be of danger to themselves
or other skiers and riders. Children are expected to
be on time for their lessons at the teaching
station, and to load the busses promptly
at the end of the day when the call is made
over the p.a. system.
Lunch
Lunch may be brought from home or money may
be sent with the child to purchase lunch
at the resort. Please make sure lunches
sent from home are clearly marked with the
child's name. Lunches will be collected on
the bus and brought into the lodge by the
supervisors.
